buns

i love buns!  whether it is a big top bun, a side bun or a chignon i will vote yes probably every time!!  buns are timeless and work for pretty much any hair type.  if you have thin, fine hair you can do a sock bun to make your bun look fuller.  if you have thick hair like myself you just need lots of pins to keep it secure.

lets start with the big top bun!  this is the bun i wear the most!  i have thick curly hair so this one is really easy for me to do.  a lot of times i wear my hair up in a big top bun and i add a fun hair accessory like a bow or flower to dress it up.  you can start with a high pony tail and wrap it around and secure it with a few pins or you can even braid it and then wrap around and secure.  my hair is very curly so i don't really ever have to wrap it around i just pin it to make it sort of messy looking.  it is a super easy way to style your hair especially when you are short on time or aren't really feeling like washing your hair and just want it pulled up!

another bun i love is the side bun!  i especially love it with curled hair, it just adds more of a romantic soft feeling.  as you can see in the first photo i incorporated a braid to make the bun a little more dressed up and in the second photo i left some curls framing around her face to add a soft, romantic feel.  side buns are one of my favorite buns just because they are so sweet seeming.  a perfect style for a bride or a special occasion.
now on to the chignon.  chignon is a french word for a low bun at the nape of your neck.  the picture below isn't the best illustration but it was the only one i was able to upload.  as you can see all of my hair is swept back into a low bundle on the nape of my neck.  chignons are very romantic and are still very timeless.  you can add a pretty clip above the bun or even a flower.
i hope you enjoyed all the bun talk as much as i did! what type of bun do you wear?  if you don't wear any buns i encourage you to start!!  thanks for stopping by!
